Natural History of the SF Bay AreaWith Diane West-Bourke WINTER 2022 HIKE SCHEDULE and DIRECTIONS TO HIKES "NATURAL HISTORY OF THE SF BAY AREA" hikes begin on: Welcome to this weekday series of guided walking adventures designed to enhance our understanding & appreciation of regional natural history & ecology. Experience a deepening sense of connection with the living world as we explore the extraordinary beauty & natural diversity this area has to offer. Trips may be revised or cancelled due to weather, or unforeseen circumstances — you will be notified via Phone Tree or Text of any changes. If you must miss a class, please notify your carpool, not the instructor. TUITION: $240/person for 6 hikes. One free guest pass/series. Drop-in hikes are $45/each, IF space is available.
TRANSPORTATION: Students are encouraged to carpool to field sites. Transportation costs & any entry fees to be shared by carpool members. Bring park passes & coupons. WHAT TO BRING: layered clothing; sturdy, comfortable walking shoes or boots; day pack; lunch, snack and ample liquids; appropriate outdoor gear; large handkerchief; small first aid/personal hygiene kit (toilet paper, medications...); emergency whistle; hat or visor; sunscreen; sunglasses; road maps; park passes; field notebook & pen. Binoculars, field guides & camera are optional, but helpful. |
